Decades ago, Don Eduardo Orendain believed that doing what you truly love is the only way to make it excel. Today, we are still doing what we love the most, transcending borders through time.
The story of our tequila legacy begins with Don Eduardo Orendain, one of the most experienced and renowned tequila distillers of 1926.
He passed down fundamental elements to his family: his love for the land, his conviction for never giving up on our passion for what we do, and the quality of our tequilas.
Thanks to him and the consolidation of the tequila industry, the name Orendain bore witness to the transcendental events that came to pass in the tequila industry.
Eduardo Orendain Gonzalez, who worked in the industry since he was a child, knew how to transmit the same ideology and passion that Don Eduardo Orendain had instilled in him.
And it was in 1926 with the purchase of a small distillery known as “El Llanito” that he unknowingly continued to uphold the legacy of the Orendain’s. Thanks to his passion, loyalty and commitment to tequila, to Mexico and to Jalisco, he became the founder and first president of what is today The National Chamber of the Tequila Industry.
Tequila Orendain of Jalisco has turned 95 years of hard ongoing work, values and nationalism into a seal of quality we imprint on each of our tequilas.
The generations that followed continued the traditions and have formed part of the great industry milestones, forging their own way and carving out a future that will prevail for years to come.
From El Llanito Distillery to Orendain Distillery, passing down the legacy through three generations.
Generation after generation, carrying on the legacy and transcending borders, taking Mexico to every corner of the world. Today, we are present in countries such as the United States, Canada, England, France, Germany, Italy, Spain, Korea, Japan, Hong Kong, Taiwan, Australia, Austria, New Zealand, Chile, Brazil, Colombia, Puerto Rico, Panama, San Salvador and Guatemala.
The quality and traditions of our Gran Orendain brand have been recognized with gold medals since 2014 and again in 2022. Gran Orendain Blanco won the double gold medal, an award given to the best alcoholic beverage of the year, competing with the best whiskeys, cognacs, brandies, and tequilas in the world at the annual Spirts Selection Competition in Brussels.
